Frequently asked questions

What can I expect during the free 15-minute consultation?

During our 15-minute consultation, we will have the opportunity to get to know each other and determine if we are a good fit. You will be able to discuss your concerns and see how my approach aligns with your needs. This is a no-obligation conversation designed to help you make an informed decision about whether to move forward with my services.

What to expect in the first session?

In our first session, we’ll conduct a more comprehensive assessment to understand the issues you’re facing, how they affect you, and what you hope to achieve from our sessions. I may ask questions about your upbringing, lifestyle, and current functioning to get a holistic view. While I’ll be asking questions, please know that you have full control over what and how much you choose to share as the client. Therapy is for you, and you are in the driver's seat.

How often do you meet with clients?

The frequency of our sessions can vary widely based on individual preferences and goals. Some clients see me weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or on an 'as needed' basis. It's common to meet more frequently at the beginning to build a strong foundation, and then space out sessions as we establish insights and work towards your goals.

What is your cancellation policy?

My cancellation policy requires that you provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your session. Failure to do so may result in a late cancellation fee equivalent to the cost of the scheduled session. Exceptions to this rule may be made on a case-by-case basis.

Do you bill directly to insurance providers?

No, at this time, I do not bill insurance providers directly. However, after your session, you will receive an invoice to submit directly to your insurance provider.

Is virtual therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

Yes, research suggests that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions. The success of therapy largely depends on factors such as motivation, attendance, and the therapeutic rapport, rather than the mode in which it is administered. Additionally, virtual therapy offers benefits such as convenience and accessibility.
